More to come

The Village of Mamaroneck has recently installed automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at numerous locations in the Harbor, including (1) between Gronberg and Cunningham fields (on shed), (2) on Cunningham deep RF light pole, (3) at playground behind Lanza field, and (4) at Goetze (3rd baseline dugout fence).  They can be accessed by calling 911 and contain all materials and instructions necessary for use.  We have also added an AED Locations webpage under our Home menu if anyone needs to look up a location quickly.

The AEDs were installed in response to a request by LMLL, and LMLL partnered with VOM in helping research appropriate options.  Although we hope they will never be needed, we applaud VOM for undertaking this important initiative to help protect our participants and all Harbor Park users.

We are also working with the Mamaroneck school district to have AEDs placed at or near fields used by LMLL, and we plan to work with Rye Neck school district as well.  In addition, we have reached out to Village of Larchmont regarding their placing AEDs at or near our fields there, including Lorenzen, Flint/Ruth Green, and Pinebrook, but they so far have not been receptive.  We are continuing to try to persuade them to follow VOM's lead in placing AEDs at these locations, and are exploring other options as well.

While the AEDs are self-guided and can be used by any responsible person in good faith using reasonable care, we are also reviewing means of providing AED training to our participants, and will provide further updates on this once it is determined.
